Construction of the Vinohrady Tunnel in Brno, Czech Republic, has entered a new phase with the commencement of blasting work on the main exploratory tunnel. This tunnel is a crucial component of the larger city ring road currently under construction in the Moravian metropolis. Approximately 600 meters of the 991-meter-long tunnel have already been excavated. The project, managed by the Directorate of Roads and Highways (ŘSD), is expected to be completed by 2030. The total cost of the tunnel is estimated at 11 billion Czech crowns. This development signifies a major step forward in improving Brno’s transportation infrastructure and easing congestion. The completed ring road will significantly improve traffic flow around the city.
