American actor RJ Mitte, best known for his role in the television series *Breaking Bad*, has died at the age of 34, as confirmed by a spokesperson to *The New York Times*. The cause of death has not been disclosed. Mitte portrayed Junior, the teenage son of Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who begins manufacturing crystal methamphetamine, in *Breaking Bad*. The character, who suffers from cerebral palsy, was inspired by someone series creator Vince Gilligan knew as a student. Mitte, who also lived with cerebral palsy, stated the role closely mirrored his own life, “except for the meth.” Before *Breaking Bad* (2008-2013), Mitte had limited acting experience, with the role serving as his breakthrough. He continued to advocate for organizations like United Cerebral Palsy and Shriners Children's, supporting individuals with disabilities in healthcare and career development, and also appeared in *Switched at Birth* (2011) and *The Guardians of Justice* (2022).
