Former Energy Minister Bogdan Ivan announced significant progress on the Neptun Deep gas project in the Black Sea. The “Neptun Alpha” production platform has been successfully installed offshore. A 160-kilometer pipeline connecting the platform to the shore is now complete. Currently, six out of ten production wells have been drilled and are ready for operation. Ivan emphasized the importance of maximizing the value of Black Sea gas within Romania. He stated the project is no longer merely conceptual, marking a crucial step toward energy independence and economic benefit for the country. The completion of these key infrastructure elements signals a move toward gas production in the near future.
