Retired Belgrade Transportation Faculty Professor Milan Vujanić stated to FoNet today that passenger traffic on the high-speed Belgrade-Budapest railway will not be established until all safety conditions are met. He emphasized the importance of thoroughly addressing all safety concerns before allowing passengers. Vujanić explained that current traffic consists solely of cargo transport. He noted that completing the entire route efficiently and safely is a complex undertaking. While the railway represents a significant infrastructural project between Serbia and Hungary, prioritizing passenger safety is paramount. He anticipates further testing and adjustments will be necessary before passenger service commences. The professor believes a firm timeline for passenger service is currently unavailable due to ongoing safety evaluations.
