Greece marked World Music Day with a concert held at the Pnyx, the ancient Athenian site considered the birthplace of democracy. The Athens Megaron Concert Hall organized the event in partnership with prominent European cultural organizations. The performance showcased Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5, known as the “Emperor” concerto, featuring pianist Lukas Sternath. Mozart’s ballet music was also included in the program. The Pnyx’s location, near the Acropolis, provided a historically significant backdrop for the musical celebration. The concert aimed to connect classical music with Greece’s rich democratic traditions and cultural heritage.
