The Bayanzurkh district wrestling federation in Mongolia announced plans to host a “Mongolian Wrestling Day” event on September 13th, aiming to promote the national sport. This initiative marks the first of its kind from a central district of Ulaanbaatar, following the federation's establishment last September. The event, to be held at the Zhukov Football Field, will include lectures on wrestling, technique demonstrations, exhibition matches, and raffles. Federation head D. Uuganbaatar emphasized the importance of promoting Mongolian wrestling, especially within Bayanzurkh, which has a population of around 500,000. The federation is urging all 21 aimags (provinces), three other districts, and sum (sub-district) wrestling federations to establish their own “Mongolian Wrestling Day” celebrations. Official letters will be sent to other federations as a model for broader adoption.
