The Bangsamoro Federalist Party (BFP), a newly established regional political force in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), is strengthening its position ahead of the September 14th parliamentary elections. Three out of the region’s five governors – Tucao Mastura of Maguindanao del Norte, Yasser Alonto Balindong of Lanao del Sur, and Ali Hadji Mohammad of Basilan – have joined the BFP. This consolidation of support signifies a strategic move as the BARMM prepares for its first parliamentary elections. The BFP aims to play a key role in shaping the political landscape of the region. This development suggests increased political activity and alignment within the BARMM leading up to the historic polls. The elections will be pivotal in establishing a stronger, more unified governance structure for the Bangsamoro people.
