The Philippine government is almost fully prepared for the upcoming parliamentary elections in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced Wednesday that preparations are 98% complete, with only minor adjustments remaining. He described the current stage as “fine-tuning,” indicating the bulk of the work has been accomplished. This election marks a significant step in the implementation of the BARMM, established to grant greater self-governance to the Muslim Mindanao region. The announcement aims to assure the public of a smooth electoral process. Remulla’s statement suggests confidence in the logistical and organizational aspects of the polls. Further details regarding the remaining 2% of preparations were not immediately disclosed.
