Seven Bangladeshi nationals were arrested near the Rokanpur border in Chapainawabganj district on Monday night for allegedly assisting with the pushing of individuals across the border to India. Four were detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and three by local police. The arrests occurred as authorities attempted to intercept a woman being smuggled across the border. According to the officer-in-charge of Gomostapur Police Station, Nure Alam, the incident took place around 10:30 PM. The individuals are accused of aiding and abetting illegal border crossings, assisting smugglers operating in the area. Further investigation is underway to determine the full extent of the smuggling operation and the roles of those arrested. Authorities are increasing vigilance along the India-Bangladesh border to curb illegal activities.
