Bangladesh’s Minister of State for Public Administration, Md. Abdul Bari, has confirmed that the Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) exam’s viva voce will remain at 100 marks, dismissing proposals to revert to the previous 200-mark system. The decision aims to maintain transparency and reduce corruption within the viva process. The Minister stated there are no plans to change the current scoring method. This announcement came during a response to a question posed by MP Abdul Hannan Masud in the 11th day of the second and first budget session of the 13th National Parliament. The government believes the 100-mark system fosters a fairer evaluation process for candidates. The move underscores a commitment to integrity in the highly competitive BCS recruitment process. Officials hope the current system will continue to attract qualified individuals to public service.
