Bangladeshi cricketer Naeem Hasan alleges he was assaulted by police in Chattogram on Friday night. The incident reportedly occurred in the Lal Khan Bazar area, where Hasan claims he was forcibly removed from an auto-rickshaw and beaten. Following the alleged assault, Hasan states he was taken to Khulshi Police Station and subjected to further mistreatment. Police officials have confirmed three Sub-Inspectors from Khulshi Police Station have been transferred to police lines pending investigation. The officer-in-charge reportedly told Hasan to “lower his eyes” during the incident, according to the cricketer’s account. Authorities have initiated an internal review of the allegations, and further details are expected as the investigation progresses. Hasan has indicated he will provide more information to the media in Dhaka.
