The Bangladesh Supreme Court’s Appellate Division has directed the High Court to resolve a rule issued regarding the candidacy of Mobasher Alam Bhuiyan, the unofficially declared winner from the Comilla-10 constituency in the 13th national parliamentary election. The directive came on Tuesday, June 16th, from a bench led by Chief Justice Jubayer Rahman Chowdhury. Bhuiyan, a BNP candidate, had sought to regain his candidacy after it was initially revoked due to allegations of loan defaults. The court will now determine the validity of the decision to cancel his nomination. This ruling addresses a legal challenge to the election outcome in Comilla-10. The case centers on whether the loan default accusations justified disqualifying Bhuiyan as a candidate. A detailed hearing will be scheduled by the High Court to reach a final verdict.
