Bangladesh is providing training to over 1.2 million prospective overseas workers annually, aiming to enhance their skills and prepare them for employment abroad. The initiative, largely focused on pre-departure orientation (PDO) courses, seeks to improve the employability of Bangladeshi citizens seeking foreign work. Minister of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment, Ariful Haque Chowdhury, revealed this information during a parliamentary session. The program prioritizes skill development to meet the demands of international employers. This large-scale training effort underscores the government’s commitment to facilitating safe and productive overseas migration. The announcement was made during the thirteenth National Parliament’s second and first budget session on Tuesday, June 23rd.
