Bangladesh’s Health Minister, Sardar Mohammad Khawaja Hossain, announced the opening of new Intensive Care Units (ICUs) across ten districts on Sunday, June 14th. The initiative aims to improve healthcare accessibility for citizens nationwide. Minister Hossain stated the government is actively working to bring healthcare services closer to the population. Plans include the construction of twenty 1,000-bed hospitals throughout the country. Additionally, two specialized hospitals with a combined 1,500 beds exclusively for women are also planned. The inauguration event took place at the নারায়ণগঞ্জ জেনারেল হাসপাতাল (Victoria Hospital). These developments signify a substantial investment in the country’s healthcare infrastructure.
