Pakistani security forces killed 15 suspected terrorists in intelligence-based operations across multiple districts of Balochistan province, state media reported Sunday. The operations, conducted under Operation Raddul Fitna 3, targeted a network referred to by the state as "khawarij"—a term for terrorists—and resulted in the recovery of weapons and ammunition. This action comes as Balochistan experiences a significant deterioration in security, with a 241% increase in the overall death toll from June to July, according to the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies. Security personnel fatalities rose dramatically, along with civilian deaths and the killing of peace committee members. The operations follow a deadly attack on a police post in Ziarat, which prompted the launch of Operation Shaban. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif recently affirmed a commitment to ending terrorism following a series of major incidents in the region.
