Audi Hungary commenced series production of electric motors at its Győr plant on Thursday, following a 130 billion Forint (approximately $350 million USD) investment. The launch event marked the first meeting between István Kapitány, a government secretary of state, and Audi’s leadership team. Kapitány noted his wife is a long-standing Audi customer during the ceremony. The new production line focuses on MEBeco electric motors, signifying a key step in Audi’s electrification strategy. This investment strengthens Audi’s presence in Hungary and supports the country’s growing automotive industry. The move is expected to create and secure jobs in the region, furthering economic growth. The event highlighted the collaboration between the government and the automotive manufacturer.
