A report from the Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) details 108 attacks and obstructions against Palestinian journalists on the occupied West Bank in July alone. The PJS attributes these actions to both the Israeli military and settlers, hindering journalists' ability to report on military incursions and settler violence. Tactics employed include arrests, beatings, interrogations, the use of tear gas and stun grenades, and raids on homes and newsrooms. The most common violations reported were brief detentions and restrictions on reporting, occurring 58 times. Settler violence against journalists has also significantly increased, including physical assaults and attempts to obstruct their work. The PJS is calling for accountability and for journalists to be able to work without fear of threats or persecution, while Israel has yet to respond to the allegations.
