Athens is currently experiencing a period of rapid touristification. This surge in visitors is creating significant pressure on the city's urban infrastructure. Specifically, nine neighborhoods have reached a point of saturation. These saturated areas are now facing critical sustainability challenges. The availability and affordability of housing for permanent residents are being severely impacted. Furthermore, the overall quality of life for locals is declining.
