Despite an increase in the number of women running for municipal office in the Czech Republic, men still comprise 65 percent of all candidates this year. However, in certain areas, particularly in the Šumpersko region of the Olomouc Region, enough women have expressed interest in local politics to form all-female candidate lists. These lists are gaining attention and receiving positive feedback from the surrounding communities. The candidates express a desire to be receptive and listen to the concerns of their constituents. This development highlights a growing movement towards greater female representation in Czech local government. The Olomouc Region serves as a focal point for this trend. This shift indicates a potential change in the landscape of Czech municipal politics.
