Traders and transporters in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), will resume business and transport operations on Sunday following assurances of security and fuel supplies from the regional administration. Representatives from various trade bodies announced they are withdrawing support from the Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), alleging the group has shifted its focus from initial concerns about subsidized resources to broader political and constitutional demands. The JAAC had been protesting the allocation of 12 seats in the AJK Legislative Assembly reserved for refugees. The protests had previously disrupted daily life across the region. Traders are now urging dialogue to resolve outstanding issues and have requested the restoration of internet services to support economic recovery. The move signals a potential de-escalation of tensions between the administration and protest organizers.
