Airbus has successfully completed the first flight of its new ultra-long-range A350-1000ULR passenger aircraft. The wide-body jet took off from Toulouse, France, for a test flight lasting two hours and 43 minutes. During the flight, the aircraft reached an altitude exceeding 41,000 feet, according to the manufacturer. The “ULR” designation, meaning Ultra Long Range, accurately reflects the aircraft’s capabilities. This new variant is designed for exceptionally long-distance routes, potentially connecting cities currently lacking direct flights. The successful test flight marks a significant milestone in the development of this extended-range aircraft. Further testing and certification will follow before the A350-1000ULR enters commercial service.
