Researchers at the University of Tartu have utilized artificial intelligence to identify previously unrecorded “field islands” – small patches of land surrounded by cultivated fields – across Estonia. The AI-powered analysis revealed approximately 10,000 more of these landforms than currently appear in official Estonian records.
