Finland’s Transport and Communications Agency (Traficom) has warned that artificial intelligence is becoming a major factor in escalating cyber threats. The agency’s Cybersecurity Centre reports AI is now utilized by attackers to identify vulnerabilities, gather intelligence, and automate attacks at an unprecedented rate. Specifically, AI is being employed to craft highly convincing phishing messages, increasing the success rate of these attacks. This technology allows for more efficient and rapid deployment of cyberattacks than previously possible. Traficom emphasizes the growing sophistication and effectiveness of these AI-powered threats. The agency highlights the need for increased vigilance and preparedness in the face of this evolving cyber landscape.
