The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Agam Regency, West Sumatra, has deployed 514 enumerators to begin preparations for the 2026 Economic Census. The data collection initiative officially commenced on June 15th. This census aims to gather comprehensive economic data within the region. Notably, the Regent of Agam is among the first respondents participating in the census. The collected data will be crucial for informing regional economic planning and development strategies. BPS anticipates the census will provide a detailed overview of economic activity in Agam Regency, supporting evidence-based policymaking. The agency emphasized the importance of public cooperation for the census’s success.
