The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is backing power infrastructure development in Nepal through Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). The funding will facilitate the construction of a 134-kilometre, 400-kilovolt transmission line designed to strengthen the country’s power grid. Accompanying this is a project to install 100–150 megawatt-hours of large-scale battery storage capacity. These initiatives are projected to attract over $200 million in private sector investment to Nepal. The projects aim to improve energy reliability and support the integration of renewable energy sources within Nepal's national grid. This support from the ADB represents a significant boost for Nepal's energy sector and its economic development goals. The investments will contribute to a more sustainable and resilient power system for the country.
