Rights activist Imaan Zainab Mazari-Hazir and her husband, Hadi Ali Chattha, protested the conditions of their court appearance at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi, ultimately walking out of the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) proceedings. The couple is facing charges related to allegedly disrupting a security route for an international cricket team and inciting public unrest, including removing barriers. They objected to being presented in a dock in the corner of the courtroom and restricted access to their legal counsel, stating they were being treated unfairly. ATC Judge Tahir Abbas Sipra addressed the police presence near the accused, directing officers to move back. The defence counsel filed an application requesting the end of the jail trial and an adjournment, to which the judge stated he would issue a separate order. The hearing was temporarily recessed while the court considers the defence’s application regarding the trial location.
