The A27 highway between Gorinchem and Everdingen will undergo significant widening work to alleviate chronic traffic congestion. This specific stretch of road has consistently ranked among the top ten most congested routes since 2022. To facilitate these improvements, Rijkswaterstaat is preparing the site by constructing new underpasses and a new entrance and exit ramp. Additionally, a project to relocate a bicycle bridge is included in the works. Traffic from Gorinchem toward Utrecht is currently being diverted. The opposite direction will also close starting next week. Closures for the Gorinchem-Everdingen route will last until July 17, and the reverse route will be closed from June 29 to August 3. All affected traffic is being diverted via the A2 and A15 highways.
