An 83-year-old man, Lennart Skogfält, suffered a broken femur after being attacked by a reindeer while on a walk. The incident occurred as the reindeer was in rut, or mating season, making the animal more aggressive. Skogfält attempted to hold onto one of the reindeer's antlers, but was overpowered by the animal’s strength. He was subsequently transported to the hospital via ambulance for treatment of his leg injury. Following the attack, authorities made the decision to euthanize the reindeer. Skogfält is currently recovering in the hospital and recounted the incident from his hospital bed. This unusual event highlights the potential dangers of encountering wildlife, particularly during breeding season.
