Mongolian authorities report 188 cases of individuals failing to pay court-ordered child support for over three months as of the first eight months of 2026. Of these cases, 93 occurred in Ulaanbaatar, while 95 were recorded in other provinces of Mongolia. The General Prosecutor's Office of Mongolia initiated legal proceedings, forwarding 182 cases to court for penalties or enforcement measures, with six cases currently under investigation. Courts have issued penalties to 157 individuals, with 75 receiving fines and 82 facing short-term detention. The majority of offenders were male (154) with only four being female, and most fell within the 26-35 (48) and 36-45 (87) age groups. Prosecution services are monitoring the registration of these offenses, referencing Article 6.20, part six of the Law on Offenses, which dictates fines or short-term detention for such non-compliance.
